Max & Nai Nai play ball!

Beach ball + Indoors + no shirt + Nai Nai = awesome :)

Kite flying with Nai Nai

Did you know there is a park in Mountain View specifically for kite-flying? We spent an evening after dinner flying Max's kite there with Nai Nai. If you are in the area and have little ones, I recommend to check it out. It's great for killing time and nice to see all the other cool kites around.

Nai Nai - time at the park

Nai Nai in July

Also way late with this, but Nai Nai came for a few days back in July and spent time with Max. Boy was he a happy camper to have Nai Nai around to play with! The morning after she left, Max even asked where Nai Nai was! Awww.

We had a few adventures while she was here and I will post them all separately. Here are some pictures of Max with Nai Nai doing puzzles - one of his favorite things.

Exploratorium with friends!

Back in July (around the 21st) we headed out to the Exploratorium with Shannon & Garrett. Not only were we so happy to get to spend some time with them (I think even getting this on the caledar was a challenge!), but NaiNai was in tow and we were blessed with some REALLY nice weather in SF.

Max had such a good time and had to slowly be coerced into leaving. But that really good weather helped when we decided to picnic for lunch out near the Palace of Fine Arts. Max loved seeing all the ducks, birds, and turtles! He was pooped and fell right to sleep on the car ride home.

Thanks for hanging out with us McMillers with a toddler in tow. We can see why you make such a great Auntie & Uncle pair!

Sorry I been MIA - but here's a post!

I have no more excuses. Olympics are done...I will put Pinterest time aside...let's get on with what has happened in the last month shall we? Blog blast coming your way!

Stern Grove outing with old friends

Our friends Kareem & Liana made a move out to Decatur, GA (near Atlanta)  a few months back and we could not have missed them more! Kareem got a great professor job at Emory and we were sad to see them leave the bay, but happy for the opportunity that came upon them.

Well we were so excited to hear that they were back in the Bay Area for the month of July living in San Francisco (smart move! stay away from that heat :) ). Last weekend we headed up to hang out at Stern Grove where they do summer series concerts for free. We didn't have a chance to stay for the concert portion, but the kids had fun hanging out in the meadow nearby and picnicking.

We sure are going to miss you guys when you head back, but are so thankful to spend some time with all of you!

(BTW, I am so bummed I didn't get to catch Liana in these pics...boo!)

The 4th

Since the 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year, there wasn't much we were doing. We decided to hang out as a fam. That morning we headed over to a local park where Max played for a bit. Then in the evening, we bbq'd some burgers and let Max break in his lovely whale pool (thanks Hivelys!).

Max did think for awhile that we were going to take our bath outside in the whale pool when it was bath time and was highly upset to know this was not the case. Sorry for the confusion buddy!

Hope all of you had a nice & relaxing 4th too!
